Looking for the best things to do in London in April? With spring finally here, we can begin to extend our daytime activities with longer hours of sunlight.

In 2026 we change our clocks to move forward in the UK on March 29th, unlike the US date which was March 8th. Londoners will be particularly excited about the first sunset which will occur after 7 p.m. on this date.

Things to do in London in April: Candlelight concerts

I have attended several of these concerts and highly recommend them for date nights, special occasions like birthdays or just a fun night out! You can read more about my first experience at the Tribute to Coldplay. I also attended the Taylor Swift Tribute, Hans Zimmer Candlelight Concert, Christmas Movie Soundtracks, and EDM Concert.

April is a great month for afternoon tea as many hotels and restaurants launch a spring-themed tea. This month I’ve selected one that pairs with an exhibition launch so you can try a classic afternoon tea.

Fashion meets tea

An avant-garde afternoon tea inspired by the radical imagination and surreal elegance of the V&A Museum’s highly anticipated exhibition, Schiaparelli: fashion becomes art.

It will be launched on March 28, 2026 at the Kensington Hotel.

I had the opportunity to discover Ruben’s at the Palace. It’s quite indulgent and you can have as many selections as you want. However, I paced myself well and found the three tiers of treats to be more than enough. If you are looking for an afternoon tea in London that is sumptuous and delicious, try this one.

This exhibition traces the history, impact and continuing influence of one of the most innovative companies of the 20th century. fashion creative, Elsa Schiaparelli. Opening on Saturday March 28 at the V&A Museum.

This is a museum-quality temporary exhibition created for London, showcasing street art in a gallery in the cultural heart of the city. Featuring 250 works, including certified originals, one-of-a-kind pieces and exclusive reproductions, this is a Banksy experience not to be missed.

V&A Museum East

This museum opens its doors on April 18 and presents the inaugural exhibition “The Music is Black: A British Story”.

Things to do in London in April: Fish & Chips Ads

This is perhaps the most popular time of year for Londoners to buy fish and chips due to the weeks leading up to the Easter holidays. So you can expect pubs and restaurants serving fish and chips to be very busy, especially on Fridays.
