Asian Dip Trio

January 3, 2026

My Asian Dip Trio delivers bold sweet, spicy and savory flavors in every bite. Three classic sauces highlight authentic Asian-inspired flavors that are perfect for spring rolls and egg rolls. Make them ahead of time and simply bring them to room temperature when ready to serve. Incredibly versatile, these sauces are equally delicious with dumplings, potstickers and Japanese gyoza.

Spring rolls and spring rolls may be the most popular Asian appetizers, but the sauces you serve with them are just as important. So why limit yourself to just one?

The full trio of Asian sauces includes sesame honey, spicy soy, and savory peanut—three distinct flavors that hit different parts of the palate and deliver plenty of umami (that nice, savory taste). I like to cut the rolls into sushi-style pieces so guests can taste the sauces in just one or two bites. One of my favorite recipes since 2014.

Cutting Spring Rolls with Asian Dips

Great dips for entertaining

Whether you’re entertaining a crowd or a small gathering, these dips instantly enhance any dish – stress-free. Entertaining shouldn’t leave you stuck in the kitchen. One of my favorite shortcuts is to start with something store-bought and upgrade it with a simple homemade touch. This quick appetizer is perfect for surprise guests and comes together in less than 30 minutes, sauces included. All you need is your favorite spring rolls or spring rolls.

I recently made Vietnamese Summer Vegetable and Shrimp Rolls that go well with all of these sauces. These dinner rolls are an easy, no-bake option that I love to make in warm weather.

Preparation advice

What I love about these sauces is how easy they are to adapt to your tastes. If any of the recipes don’t suit your palate, simply adjust the soy sauce for salty flavor, honey for sweetness, or add more chili sauce for added heat.
