Today I offer you a recipe for Italian crispy flat bread flavored with oregano. A specialty called Scrocchiarelli Messinese. Also, it is called “mother-in-law’s language” because of its elongated shape :-).

I ate the 1st time in Italy, years ago. It was served as an aperitif, with fresh sheep cheese and olives. It was so good that I kept this wonderful memory until today.

So when I came across the recipe, I rushed to test it. I did not have sheep cheese, suddenly I served these breads with fresh goat cheese and olives. What a delight!

This bread is very crisp, perfect to snack as is, to serve with a dip or a spread, or to accompany a soup or a salad. Difficult to stop eating it, it’s so good. Easy and quick to do, it only requires a few simple ingredients for its preparation. I’m going to do it again!
