Royal Things to Do in London: Insider’s Guide to Palaces, Castles and Traps

May 24, 2026

When trying to coordinate the best royal activities to do in London, do you make big mistakes before you even board your flight?

During a one-on-one consultation about a trip to London, a client told me that she had booked a hotel room in Windsor, assuming it was within walking distance of many of London’s other attractions.

Not only had she not realized that Windsor was an entirely separate town from London, but she had also been booked for a Monday evening. She was completely unaware that the castle is closed to the public on Tuesdays and Wednesdays!

If you’re currently feeling the same pre-holiday stress and confusion, using one of my approved London itineraries is the easiest way to avoid major booking disasters.

As an American living in London and having spent over a decade exploring this city with my London-born husband, I have visited all the major royal sites several times.

I’ve had years to digest these confusing rules, and believe me, I’ve made mistakes myself.

On a memorable visit with my own mother during the busy April half term, I waited just a few days before our trip to buy our tickets to Windsor Castle. We could only get an afternoon slot, which meant we weren’t allowed into the castle grounds until late.

By the time we entered, the queue for St. George’s Chapel was completely wrapped around the grounds and closed for the day. (And remember, it’s never open to visitors on Sundays!)

If you want to avoid these heartaches and discover the best places to see in London, you need a strategy.

Here I will share the most iconic royal places to visit in London so that you can plan your trip to London with confidence.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
